As someone who doesn’t believe that AGW is going to kill us all, I got this book in the hope it would explain a couple things: 1) why there are so many people who share my opinion (eve if it is from the stand that it’s wrong) and 2) give me the science that shows why my position is wrong. This book does neither.
This book appears to be written by someone with as little qualification as the ‘deniers’ and ’skeptics’ he attacks supposedly have. As a result, there is very little science in the book, but there is a huge number of assertions and attacks – ranging from politics to credibility to science and more. This book seems like nothing more than one guy’s revenge on the side he’s only been ‘against’ for four years (his own admission!).
The book is clearly written by someone who is angry or disgruntled at those with opposing viewpoints. Statements are so general as to be laughable – like the oil/energy funds all deniers, etc. Nonsense. The author attacks the science of others, but fails to back it up or show why he is right and the other guy is wrong. His disdain for Bjorn Lomborg is clear. He claims some guy found three errors in Lomborg’s ‘Cool It’ in the polar bear section alone. Well, ok, what are they, and how do you know your source is accurate versus Lomborg’s?
As with most books of this sort, there’s enough ‘truth’ in there to squeak by as a ‘credible’ work of research into the other side. The twisting, bending, stretching, spinning, etc. of the truth is as plain as day in this book (for someone who is well read on the issue or has a scientific background and hasn’t ‘converted’ to alarmism). I have not come across a book that takes the opposite view (The Deniers, Storm Warning, Climate of Extremes, etc.) that has nearly the number of accusations, the blatant lack of science, or such a harsh tone. Overall, this is a very unprofessional rant against the other side by someone who doesn’t appear to practice what he preaches when it comes down to it.

The only conspiracy related to AGW is the conspiracy by left wing blowhards like Gore to profit from dismantling western economies. There is big money to be made by mansion-dwelling, private jet-flying, carbon sucking hypocrites from fundamentally changing the rules of our economy.

According to Dr. Kevin E. Trenberth, head of the Climate Analysis Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, lead author of the 2001 and 2007 IPCC Scientific Assessment of Climate Change: “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t.”
Since these Amazon reviews were written there’s been a scandal unfolding over at Climate Change Central, the CRU. The hacked emails have been authenticated by the authors themselves, in which we learn that leading Global Warmists have been fudging the facts: “… just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e., from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to HIDE THE DECLINE…”; computer modelers are having trouble force-fitting numbers to match the hysteria: “So, we can have a proper result, but only by including a load of garbage!”; and the worst indictment – Michael ‘the Hockey Stick’ Mann who’s singlehandedly undermined the credibility of the scientific forum, “I think we have to stop considering “Climate Research” as a legitimate peer-reviewed journal. Perhaps we should encourage our colleagues in the climate research community to no longer submit to, or cite papers in, this journal.”
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, we discover that the Climate Scientists – who for years have been denying the rest of the scientific community access to their raw data – have destroyed it!!!
This isn’t science; it’s anti-science!

I rarely leave a review but this book was tosh. “Canadian environmental activists Hoggan and Littlemore” is the first part of the blurb, that alone should have you running for the hills.
The very same argument with proof of funding from big oil (see leaked CRU emails) and communist political organizations (Greenpeace etc) can be made right back at the believers, who are just as manipulated by money and agenda.
You can only trust scientists in this debate, and thousands are on BOTH sides, so climate science is far from settled.

Climate Cover-up is the standard pro AGW cant. Nothing new presented, and dated by subsequent events. If you are interested in AGW, there are many websites that provide more current information at no cost. Save your money for a good latte and dessert.
